Dear Government Official,
I am writing this letter on the topic of Utopian societies. It is my personal belief that this society would not work well for us. If we were to change into such a society where everything was perfect; I think that many would see it as an ideal place, but deep down people would want things and feelings that they would not be allowed to express. As more and many would feel this way, this Utopian society would eventually crumble.
Yes, there are benefits to this way of living such as no wars, poverty, crime, and everyone would profit from it. It would be an ideal world where everything was distributed fairly and evenly among people. There would be no upper, middle, or lower class definitions. But even in a perfect world something will go wrong whether it be planned or not. Nothing is ever perfect for long and to keep it that way is more work than one may think.
As with benefits there are many cons as well to prove my point why this would be a wrong decision to make our current society as this. First off, how would you feel if everyday you would live a life that was not of your own picking? Everything is planned out for you and you have no say in what is decided. Secondly, you could not choose who you love and how you love them. Being forced to love someone and not having choices is not the definition of an ideal world. And thirdly, would it be perfect if our society was controlled by a handful of people that made every decision and move we made? There will always be someone higher than someone.
In conclusion, all I can really say is what would you do? Would it be worth giving your free will for a perfect world? I say our world is not perfect, but that’s what makes it perfect at least in our minds.
